Chet while returning home that day, his mind was exploding, thinking of what Bibi told him about the valley, thinking about his present situation, his friend Nas, and the whole of his life situation.

“Hey, Hey, halo-halo.” Chet was interrupted by soft voice birdy like voice. He looks around and finds no one was there, he takes a second look before started to walk again towards the village. Then he heard the same voice again. This is the time he saw mid age man coming out of nearby bushes with is parrot clicking on his left broad shoulder.
“Your parrot scared me,” Chet said to parrot owner.
“Don’t worry about him, he is a good behavior bird.” Parrot owner replied.
“But how come, where you found it., for sure from the wild and it doesn’t know anything,” Chet curiously asked.
“Yes, you are right. With patient, determination, and good training of the bird how to behave and talk, at the end will pay off.” Parrot owner confidently replied.
“Aha, that’s true, but not so many of us can be that patient with a bird,” Chet replied and said goodbye to parrot owner and continued to walk through the farm field back home.
That night Chet could not sleep well, he kept thinking how he can change his life for the better. But the whole night he could not find the answer, for his point of view there were so many obstacles and zero way to pursue his dream of change.
Next morning while having his local made tea, he gazes and focuses on one object in front of him, thinking hard about crossing the alley so that he may find more opportunities to sell his bread.
He arrived at the corniche and business as usual, but this time Chet he passed so many times near the entrance of the alley, just to get sense and feelings of the surroundings. He found there are two groups of people talking to passerby near the entrance of the alley. He went to find out for himself.
Chet approached the group with red shirts.
“Hi, my name is Chet.” Chet introduced to one of the people from the group.
“Yes, what you want.” A person in redshirt rudely replied back.
“Ah, I was wondering what you guys doing here, are you guide the alley entrance.” Chet with soft voice asked.
“Listen, don’t think about it, and we have always reminded these stupid people who wanted to cross here, we do not block the entrance to anyone though, you are free to cross the alley, but that will be the biggest mistake in your life.” Redshirt person strongly advised.
“Oh, ok thank you,” Chet replied and move on to the side of the group with the white shirt.
“Hi, excuse me, may I ask you,” Chet said to one of the group members.
“Hi, yes, how are you, how may I help you?” White shirt member kindly replied back.
“I have a question about the crossing the alley,” Chet asked
“Yes, go on ask.” White shirt member replied.
“I need to cross the alley, is there any advice you offer here?. As your neighbor, there are so rude and negative.” Chet pointed to redshirt group and continued to ask.
“We don’t offer any advice, but we do encourage one to continue to learn about the alley, ready to change their thoughts about the alley and be ready for the journey to un-known fully equipped with knowledge on what to do on the way.” White shirt member replied.
“Where I can learn about the alley?” Chen asked.
“While in the alley, you think you can learn anything here roaming around corniche?” white shirt member also asked.
“This is harder than I thought. Ok, let me think again.” Chet said.
“Ok take your time, remember first, be ready to change, learn new skills and focus on your goal.” White shirt member encouraged Chet.
“Thank you,” Chet replied and left the area. Walked directly to Bibi while on the way selling his bread.

“Hi Bibi, how are you today.” Chet greets Bibi.
“Oh my darling, fine thank you, any news on Nas?” Bibi replied back.
“No, unfortunately not, but I hope he is alright. I came to tell you that soon I may across the alley to find out more about it.” Chet said to Bibi.
“I already told you that is not a good idea, but if you have strong feelings you can do it and cross safely, I cannot stop you,” Bibi assured Chet.
“That’s what I want to hear, thank you Bibi, see you soon,” Chet said while leaving Bibi waving goodbye.
For 3 days Chet was searching for anything that can accomplish his goal of crossing the alley and see the other side of it. He was thinking of how he can learn new skills and trained himself to be confident in crossing the Alley. To be ready for unexpected and be able to handle any situation ahead.
“Hello, hello” he remembered the voice of the parrot encountered with his owner last time. He thought if the parrot can learn new skills why not him. Immediately he started to look for the parrot owner, and along the way to the corniche, luckily he saw him with his parrot.
“Hey, hi.” Chet greeted with excitement.
“Hello hi there, we met again.” Parrot owner replied.
“Yes indeed, but this time I really need to learn new skills from you, I thought if you can teach a parrot to be calm near people and talk, for sure you will have skills to teach a real person like me on related skills,” Chet said.
“Depends on what you would like to learn, tell me.” Parrot owner replied.
“I need to know how I can survive while crossing the Alley located at the corniche,” Chet said.
“Oh well, you want to cross there, that’s already one important step you took to ask for skills and knowledge on how to do it.” Parrot owner replied.
After that, they continue to discuss and without hesitation the parrot owner taught Chet all skills he required such as to be open-minded, to have a clear plan, including plan B, to be unique and original and if he failed, not be totally discourage but to treat as valuable experience gained.
The next day Chet was ready for one leap of faith step forward to change his life for good, crossing the alley. He was walking as usual to the corniche, along the way met parrot owner.
“Best of Luck Chet.” He encouraged Chet.
He met Bibi. “Still am not advise you to do it, come back safely, my spirit is with you my darling” Bibi cautioned Chet.
He met the red white members near the entrance of the alley.
“So you think you can do it? We warned you-you will never succeed.”
They discouraged Chet and kills his dreams.
Lastly, he met white members group also near the entrance of the ally.
“We know you will successful, keep the focus on your way, don’t look back and distract with any voices around you. Good luck.”
The group encouraged Chet, which charged his energy to move on.
Face to face with the entrance of the alley, “This is it.” Chet speaks his mind and took his first step forward and left behind the bright white beach of the corniche into the shadow of the path to misery or miracle that he dreamed of.
He walked through the alley and started to observe on both sides of it and in front where he walks. He found both sides are closed windows some with the light on inside and other totally dark. The pathway was not smooth, there were obstacles like trash cans, other dirt and side of the path are huge garbage bins. After a few meters of walking carefully through the alley, one window opened.
“Hey there, come here, I have something to offer you.” Middle age man, with his new looks, clothe and inside of his house is all lighted up, when he opened his window, light up part of the dark alley. Chet covered his eyes from bright light rays and try to look who was talking to him.
“Hi, my name is Chet. What you are offering.” Chet asked.
“Listen, my friend, your journey is over, come on in, and you will be working here to make sure all the bulbs in the house are working all day and every single day. In return, I will pay you a competitive earning.”
“Aha, well, my journey is not over, I need to reach the end of the alley and find out what that side of the alley has to offer me,” Chet replied.
“Ahhh, you waste your time. You will regret you leave this offer, there is a long way to the end of the alley.” The middle-aged man replied and shut his window.
Chet worried after he heard that and at one point he doubted his decision to move on, but deep inside tells him he must move on. He continues to walk in a dark alley, and after few steps, he found a huge manhole in front of him, it was open and he tried to look inside lead to darkness to nowhere. He cannot jump to another side or there is nothing to help to cross this huge opening.
“This is the end of my journey, what I was thinking.” Chet talked to himself.
“Stuck eh.?” Chet heard a voice out of nowhere, he looks back and he finds half-open window no light inside and a dirty ugly man just his head appeared out of the window.
“Yes, I think so. Hi, how you doing, my name is Chet.” Chet introduced himself.
“Hi Chet, how you will cross that obstacle?” the ugly man asked.
“I have no idea, do you?” Chet returns the question.
“Depends, what you have to offer me and your belief in your journey.” The ugly man replied."I have nothing to offer at this point of my journey to unknown," Chet replied. "But, I will make sure I will bring a gift from another side of the alley when I come back," Chet added.
"Do you deeply believe that you can reach the end of the alley and get what you seek and bring back my gift.?" the ugly man asked.
"Yes, I believe" Chet replied back without hesitation.
"Well, then, close your eyes, thinking of all great achievements you dream of when you reach the end of the alley while jumping this manhole." the ugly man advise.
In seconds Chet did just like that, find himself on another side of the manhole, and thanks to the old ugly man and continue his quest.
Finally, he reached other ends of the alley, with a growth mindset and ready to tackle the other side of his world, of course with his friend Nas.
LESSON LEARNED:
- Never underestimate your willpower and your dreams turning to reality
- Always there will be negative and positive advises, be careful not to fall in the trap.
- Listen to both, from those who will support and encourage you (White Shirt Team members) and those who will discourage you big time (Redshirt Team members - from the entrance of the Alley)
- Seek knowledge and more information about whatever you are planning to do. (Guy with a parrot and Bibi)
- Even after you have decided to move on with your dream turning to reality, there are always challenges on the way. (Challenges Chet faced while crossing the alley)
